Pharmaceutical Disposal
In their practice, nurses are in the delicate and powerful position of preserving clients? health with powerful drugs that may erode the environment. Therefore, there must be emphasis on controlling pharmaceutical wastes in such a way that it minimally impacts the environment, and subsequently public health.
There are two categories of medications that nurses need to dispose of: unmetabolized and metabolized drugs.
